I am a Digital Transformation Architect with 30 years of working experience.

As a Digital Transformation Consultant, I help clients envision future business possibilities by adopting new innovative digital business models, help create pilots, and advise on deepening digital capabilities and orchestrating eco-systems.

I define digital enterprise architectures that use digital technologies like Cloud, Mobile, Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cognitive and Social. I create solutions using microservices based architectures, new age technology solutions, enterprise integration methods and hybrid cloud platforms.

I work closely with senior management of clients to understand the organization’s vision, strategy and business objectives and then create the Digital transformation solution architectures and roadmaps that can help them reinvent themselves and stay competitive in the market.

I have held technology leadership positions which include Solution Architecture, Project Management, Technology Strategy and Planning. I have played key roles in helping new digital businesses with a technology vision, defining technology roadmaps and architecting solutions using Analytics, Cloud, Mobile and Social Technologies in the Retail, Logistics, Banking and Insurance Industry. I have experience defining architectures and creating solutions using the IBM cloud platform Bluemix and Hybrid Cloud, Enterprise Integration products from IBM including IBM Integration Bus (IIB), API Connect, IBM Cloud Integration, Magento (E-Commerce), new age technologies including Node.js, Cloudant, Mobile and Analytics.

1. A large leading bank in India

 The client wanted to expand their customer base by targeting millennials by offering them an integrated financial and lifestyle services experience. Their current offering was restricted to only financial products and they were looking to implement an integrated online marketplace that would cater to both financial banking products as well as lifestyle products.

I worked on the Solution architecture for a Marketplace solution for the Bank’s financial and partner vendors’ products using the Magento Platform. The solutioning process involved identifying all organization stakeholders, mapping business requirements to stakeholders, mapping applications to business requirements of stakeholders, mapping IT solutions to the identified applications, preparing the solution architecture and overall technical solution proposal.

The implementation of the platform based on the solution architecture helped the client provide an integrated online platform for new customer acquisition and better servicing of their existing customer base.

2. A large International Retailer and Hypermarket chain

The company had taken up a franchise for setting up a chain of retail stores in fashion apparel, toys and food and beverages in the leading metros. They were looking for an integrated digital solution that would address their new customer acquisition through digital marketing, provide an excellent customer experience, ensure a high level of daily operational efficiencies and help with implementation of new digital business models.

I worked on a Digital Transformation Solution Architecture which included e-commerce, customer portal, digital marketing, analytics, and operational backend systems. The solutioning process included Business requirements gathering, preparation of an as-is applications and IT landscape, mapping business requirements from the component business model to application and IT landscape, preparation of a to-be IT landscape, carrying out the gap analysis and identifying required solutions, prioritization of identified solutions, preparation of a Technology Roadmap for digital transformation. I also conducted a Proof Of Concept for ecommerce.

The resulting solution allowed the new businesses to provide for an omni-channel experience by seamlessly integrating the offline and online systems for an integrated customer experience.

3. A large Jewellery Retailer

The client was facing a major problem with the performance of their Jewellery Retail IT systems in terms of very slow billing times which was resulting in long checkout queues, very low customer dissatisfaction and a large impact on daily retail sales.

I conducted a complete IT Assessment of the existing IT landscape and architecture and proposed solutions to improve performance and enhance business productivity. Solutions proposed included a complete re-architecture of their existing IT systems, including cloud based workforce mobility solutions and ecommerce.

The resulting solution based on the revised architecture helped in the implementation of an enhanced system which improved the customer billing and checkout process efficiencies to a large extent.

4. New online business in Luxury Retail and Fashion Accessories
The client wanted to set up a completely new business by building an online marketplace for luxury retail and fashion accessories.

I was responsible for the Solution Architecture, Development and Deployment of e-Commerce solutions for the Retail Industry on the web and mobile platforms in Luxury Retail, Lifestyle, Fashion Accessories stores and a marketplace for lifestyle products. I managed the development of multi-channel platforms with loyalty programs, partner programs, affiliates, social media integration, analytics, CRM integration and Logistics integration. The cloud deployment was in AWS. These platforms were developed on the Magento Enterprise and Community Editions and deployed in the cloud on AWS.

The client was able to setup and run a completely new online marketplace for luxury retail and fashion accessories products.

5. New online business for a large international Telecom provider

 The client was looking to offer value added services in addition to the basic telecom services. This was to expand into a new online business in order to increase their subscriber base.

 I was a consultant to the client to help setup the new digital business by offering subscription based digital content like live TV, Video on Demand, Music, Online and mobile games to customers on mobile and web platforms. I provided the solution architecture and the infrastructure architecture required for deploying the solution in the cloud and included integration with existing telecom billing and subscriber provisioning systems, CRM and Marketing systems, Integration with all content providers for catalog data and streaming content using APIs exposed by content providers.

This allowed the client to provide additional digital products and services in addition to the regular services and helped increase the subscriber base.
